Yeah, so wrongful termination happens in many contexts. Typically in California, when we have wrongful termination, it happens as a result of some kind of discrimination or some sort of retaliation or a combination of both. We have done many, many wrongful termination cases. A wrongful termination really raises the damages in a case. It’s also a situation that creates a lot of distress. It might damage their career. For us, it’s one of the cases that we really pride ourselves on.
Whenever we see harassment, discrimination, or retaliation, one of the key things is how did the employer react? Instead of doing the right thing and fixing the situation, does the employer go ahead and double down and side with the harasser or the discriminator and really go after our client and either retaliate themselves or permit the retaliation to the point where our client has no choice but to leave employment? That’s called constructive termination. Or our client is just fired, which is regular termination.
