Julian Benavidez

Julian grew up in a military family, moving during his childhood to places including Seoul, South Korea, and Oahu, Hawaii. He later moved to New York City, where he attended St. John’s University. Living in different places taught Julian the value of adaptability, perseverance, and connection – qualities that continue to shape both his life and his approach to representing clients.
Julian’s approach to advocacy was built by his experience as a criminal defense attorney in San Bernardino and Orange Counties, where he served as a deputy public defender representing individuals with limited resources who were facing the full force of the criminal justice system. In that high-stakes environment, Julian developed the skills to investigate facts thoroughly, challenge opposing narratives, and present his clients’ stories with clarity and force.
Julian brings that same investigative rigor, preparation, and persistence to his work representing injured individuals at Venardi Zurada. He understands how insurance companies and defense counsel may attempt to minimize the consequences of an injury or dispute the facts underlying a claim. He works to hold responsible parties accountable, ensure that his clients are treated with dignity, and communicate the full impact of their injuries. Julian believes effective representation requires more than a command of the law; it requires understanding the person behind the case and remaining committed throughout the legal process.
Julian earned his degree in Communications from St. John’s University before returning to California to attend law school in Sacramento, where he earned his law degree in 2014. He began his legal career as a criminal defense attorney and has since committed his professional life to advocating for individuals facing difficult and consequential circumstances. Focused, persistent, and prepared, Julian brings a battle-tested perspective to protecting his clients’ interests and pursuing the best possible result in every case.

Confidential settlement against a health maintenance organization for failing to supervise a surgeon who performed inappropriate procedures on female urology patients causing significant, permanent injuries Including chronic incontinence. Claims involved more than 80 patients and reflected an aggravated liability situation since the health care organization was familiar with the surgeon’s recreational drug use but failed to monitor and concealed his conduct, training and experience.
