About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized, empathetic, and detail-oriented individual to join our growing team as a Records Clerk/Pre-Litigation Case Manager. This position involves direct client interaction, document management, and coordination with various stakeholders to ensure smooth case progression and optimal outcomes.
This is a full-time, in-person position in our Oakland office. The working hours are Mon-Fri, 8:30 am-5 pm.
Key Responsibilities
As a pre-litigation case manager, your responsibilities would be:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, offering support and updates throughout the case lifecycle.
- Request, obtain, review, and itemize medical records and billing records.
- Coordinate the investigation of claims, including gathering medical records, accident reports, and other essential evidence.
- Work closely with attorneys to develop case strategies and prepare for settlement demands.
- Manage case documentation, ensuring all relevant information is accurately filed and easily accessible.
- Facilitate communication between clients, attorneys, medical providers, insurance companies, and other parties involved in the case.
- Monitor case timelines and deadlines, ensuring compliance with court requirements and procedural deadlines.
- Provide empathetic support to clients, helping them navigate the complexities of the legal system while addressing their concerns and questions.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Legal Studies, Criminal Justice) or equivalent work experience in personal injury law and/or employment law.
Experience
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a case management or legal assistant role, preferably within a personal injury law firm.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in legal software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Soft Skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on client service.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation
$26- $29 per hour, commensurate with experience.
