Mistakes To Avoid After a Car Accident in San Francisco

After a car wreck in San Francisco, there are a few things that you should avoid doing.

The first is talking to anybody from an insurance company.

The second is really having much conversation with the driver of the other car, certainly not talking about what you did or what you did not do.

Third, if the driver from the other car wants to speak to you, it’s a mistake to not listen. So listen to what they have to say, but don’t respond to it. And then when you leave the scene, take careful notes of exactly what it is they said. It’s a mistake at the scene of a wreck, if you’re able, to not document it as best as possible. So please take pictures of everything that has happened.

The other common mistake that people make is when they go to the hospital, they don’t report all of their symptoms to the hospital. Usually, all of us by nature kind of self-triage. And by that, I mean if I go to the hospital and I have a broken leg and my leg is just hurting like the bejesus, but I also hurt in the back of my head and my left elbow, but I don’t think those things are too serious, I’m very focused on the leg. So when I go to the hospital, that’s what I tend to talk about. Most people will tend to talk about the most serious and severe injury they have, and they don’t report all of their symptoms.

So it’s a mistake when you go to the hospital. Take kind of an inventory from head to toe of all of the symptoms that you’re experiencing and report all of those symptoms. It’s also a mistake, if possible, to not call the police. So sometimes the police won’t come even when you call them. But you should always dial 911 and see if you can get the police on scene to do a report.
